I, too, am one clinging to SVU (my dog's name is Stabler, so I feel I must) and feel hopeful about the direction this season is going. The last few have been a sloooog.
On TMJ: If you are able to find a DO, a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, they are trained to do all sorts of treatments on the face and body to relax muscles. Seeing Dr. Vaghasia at One Medical for this both helped me with jaw clenching but on the whole has helped with tension all over my body! I love Osteopaths now. Separately, a friend of mine went to a TMJ Doctor in NYC who cured her lifelong issue in one visit - his name is Dr Nojan Bakhtiari.
Also in a journal era and I want all the damn washi tape and stickers!
I sadly have no great suggestions for TMJ other than getting a super sexy mouthguard for at night and standing in solidarity with you and our tight jaws.
Fingers crossed for you! My dentist made mine over a decade ago and itโs still holding up. It has helped with the teeth grinding though Iโm still an anxious person so whoโs to say on the jaw clenching.
Happy new year!!! I always love reading these so much.
Re: TMJ, Iโve tried a lot of things, and whatโs worked the best by far is, unfortunately, masseter botox. Iโm taking a break from it currently (itโs expensive!) and am going to the chiropractor in the meantime (also expensive, but less so) and itโs helped, too. Good luck, my sister in jaw pain.
Thank you for being honest about The Wedding People, because no one else was. I was curious about it and this was the push I needed to remove it from my reading pile. Also canโt wait to read Creation Lake. Several people have told me they were disappointed by it but I find that hard to believe. Kushner never disappoints.
I recently started knitting and would recommend starting with a thicker yarn and larger needles and just creating a square to practice the stitches - makes it much easier when you go to start your first pattern. Also- so many helpful YouTube videos out there. Iโm excited to hear how it goes for you!

okay I'm glad someone else thinks so! I'm loving the nepo baby character.
SAME. I think heโs going to pay for the person with the new baby to get the degree she wants. ๐ค๐ผ
