I’m an early September Virgo, so I always feel like the last week of August is just stretchinggggggg on with no end. It’s not my favorite, but I do like your Sunday metaphor. It feels like the pause before an exhale and the back to school rush.

Taking 6 months to write an email is extremely and unfortunately relatable. Your recommendations seem so interesting, and wedding planning sounds so exciting!

Jumping in late to say I fully agree about a good girl's guide to murder and yet somehow I watched all of it 😬

On a more positive note, I highly recommend the book of Notes on a Scandal by Zoe Heller, far superior to the film!

l also resonate with the child bride of it all (l got married a few years ago). There also isn’t a lot of content (books, movies, etc) about how some relationships in your life will change drastically when your wedding planning. it’s such a unique experience that only few understand. I hope your day is beautiful 🫶🏾

also, worst ex ever was so traumatizing and l couldn’t sleep for days after watching it. the last episode had me staring at the wall 😔

I also wore Faris jewelry to my wedding! Good luck – the last few weeks before the wedding feel like that first upward incline of a roller coaster. It inches excruciatingly slower right before the drop arrives, and then suddenly, you're in it, and it's all weightless thrills.

Priya Parker has written beautifully and compellingly about the non-logistics elements of weddings, and how they tend to be Trojan horses for larger group and family conflict – it's why I usually buy friends her book The Art of Gathering right when they get engaged!

Very different than If An Egyptian Cannot Speak English, but if you're interested in books that explore modern Egyptian identity (as well as, seemingly, all of human experience in a single book) I can't recommend Shubeik Lubeik highly enough. My first ever graphic novel and one of my top books of last year, if not my top (only competition on its level was Demon Copperhead). I was so deeply moved.

Love this final file ❤️ I just got married on August 31st! I’m 27 my now husband is 28 and we talk about how young we feel having got married. It’s giving where are the adults?! Our wedding day was the best day and unforgettably the most love I’ve ever felt. BUT the drama and nuance, WOOF. And I agree no one is really chatting about it!

Wishing for you and C such a beautiful and wonderful day, that makes the craze worth it!
