"I like the cover!" RIP, me

came here to say the same! perfectly brutal and confirmed my suspicions (no disrespect, as a longtime lover of Taffy's essays).

also, if you're watching SATC, I must recommend Dolly Alderton and Rachel O'Donoghue's podcast "Sentimental in the City." each episode, they analyze a different season of SATC as if it were a great american novel. it's GREAT, they're as delightful on podcast as they are on paper, and it made me appreciate the show more.

🥹 the bridal shower pics - you are all so beautiful. my heart really swelled at those pics. Boring on Godwin bc I (we lol) thought that would be good! Shame. Look forward to whenever you read Evenings and Weekends tho!!

I want the text screenshot at the bottom on a tshirt. People are ridiculous about book criticism - get a grip!!

My printer recommendation is definitey don't get an HP Tango! I had one for a few years, and it printed like it was low on ink even when it allegedly had plenty. I now outsource printer maintenance to my local library... for the limited amount of printing I do, that's much less of a minor inconvenience than managing ink supply. Plus I'm always going to the library for books anyway :)

can you speak some about how you read/when you read? your final files are always filled with so much content it amazes me! for myself i always feel like if i had a particularly heavy tv month, almost nothing gets read and vice versa.

Can you say more about your thoughts on Long Island Compromise?

It wasn't for me! I think it's a polarizing one from a style and format perspective. Light on plot, heavy on voice-y, observational writing. Lots of bearing witness to the inner workings of their world and digging deep into the psyches of a family and a tragic event that shapes their lives. which is to say to love this you have to also buy in to the characters or at the very least the writing.

Ooo excited to hear your thoughts on Evenings & Weekends--it's been on my list for a while, but I haven't pulled the trigger YET!

One of my friends just bought that exact Floyd suitcase and it really is the coolest suitcase I've ever seen. She says it's not the most practical in terms of capacity lol but like duh that's not the point is it?
