“Things I want: 20k more words of my draft.” So deeply relatable. And excited to start Story next week.

That selfie 🤩🤤 slay! Super interesting to hear about how the writing process has been this month - writing about sex sounds hard. Also v interested in Greenlands bc of that review - unfortunate about the tone of mediations on blackness in relation to whiteness, I am interested to almost see how incorrectly it was approached?

Ok onto TV - so sad about Killing Eve S4. That final season aired in the UK 2 years ago now? And I was so devastated. The last season just does not live up at all - they changed writers at the end and it just RUINS it. There were some pap pictures that came out of Jodie Comer on what people think was her shooting the final scene of the series and she looks so bummed. Idk if you’ve seen it but everyone said it looks like she hated the script too lol. Season 1-3 live on to be so iconic though.

Challengers comments made me laugh. I thought it was good fun but I agree re Zendaya point. The boys carried that film and I also would’ve loved a sauna sex scene. Luca should’ve been more daring w pushing their relationship in that way it could’ve paid off big time.

And Bridgerton omg. Also think P&C’s storyline is so boring. Fundamentally just am not interested in them as characters and there is 0 lust. Like where is the horny man this season? Bc Colin is not it. Idk it’s also because Penelope’s character respectfully is so cringe? They don’t even explain why they like each other w flash backs or anything? Like give us something surely we’re not watching him coach her and then decline he loves her in 3 hours? Season 2 was just TOO good. Johnathan Bailey is the only man in period outfits I ever want to see. Idk if im hopeful for part 2. Im more invested in Penelope and Eloise’s relationship!

Ok I’ve written so much. Also NYT article is sooooo cool Tembe! I agree w your stepmom - certified famous. Love u bye xxx

If you read Greenland you'll have to let me know what you think! Not shocking that there was a writer's room shake up, it felt totally different. And so glad you get it re: Challengers! I'm like why do all this and not even take us all the way? Like what's the point? We barely have enough exciting sex scenes as it is. I don't give artists brownie points for needless restraint. Re: Bridgerton it's SO boring. I would've adored a childhood flashback so we at least have something to latch onto. It's giving us nothing. Agree re: P + E, I hate to see them going through it but I get it on both sides. Love you back!

why do all this and not even take us all the ways is FACTS. Literally P + E are the only relationship I am interested in this season - agree that it makes sense on both sides. I hope they make up but idk if they do. Imagine falling out w your bestfriend and then they marry your BROTHER. I'd be beyond fuming - interested to see that dynamic play out. I hope part 2 redeems the boringness of P1. xox

Omg I’ve been in the same situation with writing about sex as one of the main plots in my story, it has been tricky, I love hearing about your work 💚

You'll have to let me know how it goes and if you find any clarity as you move forward in the story. And thank you! I didn't talk about craft at all when I was writing my first novel, it was a very insular process, but its been nice to talk about the thing taking up so much of my brain space. I'm glad it's interesting in one way or another :)
